The Viral Fever(tvf) is a production company very well known for its great and appreciating work. From Yeh Meri Family to Permanent Roommates to Pitchers to Kota Factory. All these works are broadly accepted and appreciated by every generation and every section.
Here, Panchayat is the another masterpiece from TVF. A must watch series by the production company on Amazon Prime touching the rural India very swiftly, graciously.
Story of a city boy who is looking for an urban job in a air-conditioned room. Due to circumstances, he did the same thing that every jobless Indian graduate does. Government job form. Unwillingly, got the job and moved to Phullera village Panchayat, U.P. as a Panchayat secretary. A perfectly typical Indian village. Full of unfortunate things. Electricity cutdowns, unhealed roads, illiterate villagers, superstitions, corruption and so much. His struggle through all this stuff and came to somewhere at a point of happiness at the end is the whole storyline.
How does it different from other similar stories? Abhishek Tripathi, a fresh engineering graduate who does not got placed in his final year placements, representing the number of youths of India who are in their respective job just for the minimal salary. Trying for the better option of lifestyle. Abishek tired of the nuisances around him in the village and decide to crack CAT to get out of this circus. This is not at only about a city boy who got fed up of the village life. This is all about the field of interest in job. Every graduate in India is doing a job not relatable to their degrees. Abishek and all like him are frustrated, furious and looking for other options. Either they are better in other skill or they are not satisfied what they got. Which one belongs to Abhishek? Skill with job is a tough goal to acquire. Here, satisfaction is a topic to discuss.
The whole story is about finding yourself through his journey. Only 20,000 salary, theft at Panchayat office, ego fights, lonely days and introduction to a new cultural rural India. Actors, location and sub plots are some best things about the series.
Now look at the cast:-
NEENA GUPTA Sarpanch. Lovely and applaudable
RAGHUBIR YADAV. Husband of sarpanch. Cutest and perfectly played.
JITENDRA KUMAR Panchayat secretary. Inspirational. Dedication
CHANDAN ROY Assistant for secretary. First performance for me. Appreciating.
FAISAL MALIK Uppradhan. Very real touch to the role.
CONCLUSION
I see a similar pattern in today's webseries following a monotone pattern of violence and sexuality. We are quitely loosing the creativity of OTT platforms. If you also got bored with all these crime thrillers floating all over the OTT's, this will be a super refreshing story to you. It really contained a very new perspective having bunch of great actors together to offer us a story of a lovely village and a dedicated boy........
SUGGESTIONS
Cham Bahar, Yeh Meri Family and Tajmahal 1989 are some of the similar series to watch.
